Basement Remodel Project

Today was the day the we started our remodeling project in the basement. I am calling this “Phase One” because we will not be doing the floors for a while.  We bought some wallpanels that look like outdoor bricks. We had to cut about a foot off of the board for it to fit, then we had to cut out the hole for the outlets. When we did the first outlet, we realized that it was sitting back to far, so Travis unscrewed it to pull it forward. He struggled with it a little bit, so I tried and it ZAPPED me!! OUCH!!! My thumb tingled for a while, but it’s ok now. So, anyway, I took a before and after picture to post on my blog. Please pardon the mess….it is not completely done.

BEFORE…..

AFTER!!!!!

Now, this is just the back wall. The front wall has this wierd 70′s red, white, and blue wallpaper on it. I will post pictures on that wall sometime in this coming week so you can see that.

Doctors

I get really frustrated with doctors sometimes. My daughter has been having really bad stomach and back pains for well over a week now. When I first took her in, they said it was a bladder infection. Then they called me back and asked if she was feeling better. I told them that she wasn’t, so they had me bring her in again. This time, they gave her a different medication and said “If you don’t feel better in 10 days, call us back” We are now on day 7 and she is having the pains again. I called my sister and asked about kidney stones, and it sounds like that might be what it is. I just can’t understand why my doctor didn’t ask us to go have an MRI done. She is miserable and I feel absolutely helpless.  I really hope she feels better soon. :(

I WIN!!!

My son decided about 6 months ago that he was not going to cut his hair anymore. When he said that, I didn’t think he would last long before he changed his mind. Unfortunately, I was wrong. My daughter and I kept telling him that it looked horrible and dirty that way. I even at one point told him that he looked like the blonde guy on “The Benchwarmers”(it was mean…I know), but he stayed strong….until last night. He went up to Wal Mart with me and on the way there, he said that he wanted to get it cut. I was so excited!

So, after the haircut, he said he felt wierd and he thought no one would like it.  We made a bet at that point. We decided that if 5 people (including myself) in one week told him that he looked really good, then he would continue to keep it short. He agreed thinking that it wouldn’t happen. He has had the haircut for exactly 24 hours now and……yep….you guessed it, I WIN!!!
